Horlenko

Horlenko. A family of Cossack starshyna descended from Lazar, colonel of the Pryluky regiment intermittently from 1658 to his death in 1687. The more distinguished members of the family were Dmytro Horlenko, Lazar's son; Yakym (d before 1758), fellow of the standard from 1725, general flag-bearer from 1729, acting hetman in the Crimean campaign of 1737, and general judge from 1741; Yoasaf Horlenko; and Vasyl Horlenko.
