Kolodzinsky, Mykhailo

Kolodzinsky, Mykhailo [Колодзінський, Михайло; Kolodzins'kyj, Myxajlo; pseudonyms: Kum, Huzar], b 26 July 1902 in Potochyska, Horodenka county, Galicia, d 18 March 1939 in Bushtyna, near Khust in Carpatho-Ukraine. Prominent military leader of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN). He was a member of the Ukrainian Military Organization from 1922 and a key leader of the OUN in Galicia from 1929. In 1932–3 he served on the OUN Executive for Galicia as chief of military training. In 1938–9 he helped organize the Carpathian Sich and became its chief of staff with the rank of colonel. He was killed in combat with the Hungarian army. Kolodzinsky wrote a number of works on military strategy.
