Kulyk, Ihor

Kulyk, Ihor [Кулик, Ігор; aka Kulik, Igor], b 19 November 1935 in Kharkiv, d 18 December 2019 in Brooklyn, New York State. Solid-state physicist; corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR since 1970. A graduate of Kharkiv University (1959), from 1960 to 1972 Kulyk was a research associate at the Physical-Technical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR. From 1972 to 1993 he was a department head at the Institute. After 1996 he worked as professor at Stoney Brook University in the United States. He achieved significant research results in the fields of superconductivity and surface physics.
