Levytsky, Oleksii

Levytsky, Oleksii [Левицький, Олексій; Levyts'kyj, Oleksij], b 10 October 1887 in Kyiv, d 18 June 1959 in Dornstadt, near Ulm, West Germany. Comic actor. He began his career in Onysym Suslov’s troupe in 1905. In 1910–18 he worked in Ivan Sahatovsky’s troupe, with a hiatus in the Ruska Besida Theater (1913–14). Levytsky joined Sadovsky's Theater in 1919, and in 1920–44 he worked in various Ukrainian troupes in Galicia, and then, until 1949, in the Ensemble of Ukrainian Actors in West Germany.
