Lozova

Lozova. Map: V-17. A city (2005 pop 61,400) and raion center in Kharkiv oblast. It was founded in the late 1860s during the construction of the KurskKharkivAzov railway line. In April 1918 the Army of the Ukrainian National Rrepublic fought several battles against the Red Army near Lozova. Today the city is a major railway junction and has several railway-related enterprises, a metallurgical machinery plant, a machine-building factory, and a tractor plant.
