Ostrozky-Lokhvytsky, Ivan

Ostrozky-Lokhvytsky, Ivan [Острозький-Лохвицький, Іван; Ostroz'kyj-Loxvyc'kyj], b 1749, d 6 November 1845. Court official of Cossack starshyna descent. In the 1790s he was several times elected assessor of the Novyi Oskol land court. His memoirs of the period 1771–1825 were extended to 1846 by his son Petro and were published in Kievskaia starina (1886). They are an important source for the history of the Ukrainian gentry and the legal profession.
