Research Society for Ukrainian Terminology

Research Society for Ukrainian Terminology (Науково-дослідне товариство української термінології; Naukovo-doslidne tovarystvo ukrainskoi terminolohii). An institution established in New York in 1971. The society has published a new Ukrainian orthographic dictionary (ed Jaroslav Rudnyckyj and Konstantyn Tserkevych, 1979), a Ukrainian language reference book (ed Tserkevych and Vadym Pavlovsky, 1982), and the memoirs of Julian Movchan (2 vols, 1982, 1984), I. Desiak (1984), and O. Kaniuka (1984). It has also republished Ivan Ohiienko’s dictionary of words not used in literary Ukrainian (1973), P. Derkach’s short dictionary of Ukrainian synonyms (ed V. Volkov, Nataliia Pazuniak, and Tserkevych, 1975), Borys Antonenko-Davydovych’s Iak my hovorymo (i iak treba hovoryty) (How We Speak [and How We Should Speak], 1980), Dokiia Humenna’s novel Dity chumats’koho shliakhu (Children of the Milky Way, 1983), and the Russian-Ukrainian legal dictionary edited by Ahatanhel Krymsky (rev edn, ed Tserkevych and Pavlovsky, 1984).
