Stryi Brigade of the Ukrainian Galician Army

Stryi Brigade of the Ukrainian Galician Army ( Stryiska [11] brygada UHA). A unit in the Third Corps of the Ukrainian Galician Army, organized in June 1919 from some units previously assigned to the Krukenychi Group and the Hlyboka Group. It consisted of four infantry battalions, one artillery regiment, and reserve units. Its peak strength, in August 1919, was 2,400. Under Maj K. Schlosser's command the brigade became a leading fighting unit. In August 1919 it was assigned to the Army of the Ukrainian National Republic to assist its Third Iron Rifle Division against the 45th and 47th Red Army divisions. In February 1920 it was reorganized into the Ninth Infantry Regiment of the Red Ukrainian Galician Army, and in late April it joined other UHA units in Polish internment camps.
