Volhynian Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater

Volhynian Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater [Волинський академічний обласний український музично-драматичний театр ім. Т. Г. Шевченка; Volynskyi akademichnyi oblasnyi ukrainskyi muzychno-dramatychnyi teatr im. T. H. Shevchenka]. A theater established in 1939 in Lutsk. Its repertoire has consisted mostly of Ukrainian, Russian, and world classical plays, with frequent productions of works by Lesia Ukrainka. Its artistic directors included Ye. Olshevsky (1978–86) and M. Illiashenko (since 1986).
