Yasinia

Yasinia [Jasinja]. Map: V-5. A town smt (2001 pop 8,000) on the Chorna Tysa River in Rakhiv raion, Transcarpathia oblast. It was first mentioned in a historical document in 1583. On 9 November 1918 the Hutsul Republic, which was part of the Western Ukrainian National Republic, was declared in Yasinia. Today the town is a manufacturing center for forest products and a tourist center with three tourist bases. It has a wooden church built in 1824.
