Yershov, Anatolii

Yershov, Anatolii [Єршов, Анатолій; Jeršov, Anatolij], b 8 June 1897 in Tolkachevka, Lgov county, Kursk gubernia, Russia, d 11 January 1938 in Kharkiv. Historian and numismatist. In the 1920s he taught at the Nizhyn Institute of People's Education (now Nizhyn State University) and was an associate of the Kharkiv Scientific Research Institute of the History of Ukrainian Culture. His articles on guilds and currency in 17th- and 18th-century Left-Bank Ukraine and on the historiography of several Cossack chronicles appeared in Zapysky Nizhyns'koho instytutu narodnoï osvity, Zapysky Naukovoho tovarystva im. Shevchenka, and Zapysky Istorychno-filolohichnoho viddilu VUAN. He perished during the Stalinist terror of the 1930s.
