Zaporozhian Host

Zaporozhian Host (Військо Запорізьке; Viisko Zaporizke). The name of the armed forces of the Zaporizhia in the 16th to 18th centuries and the official name used by the Cossacks for the Hetman state. Bohdan Khmelnytsky's title of ‘hetman of the Zaporozhian Host’ signified that he was the head of state.
