Zarudny, Oleksander

Zarudny, Oleksander [Зарудний, Олександер; Zarudnyj], b 28 April 1890 in Omsk, Russian Empire, d 8 February 1918 in Kyiv. Political and state figure. A leading member in the left wing of the Ukrainian Party of Socialist Revolutionaries, he was a representative to the Central Rada and a minister of land affairs in the Ukrainian National Republic. He was shot by Bolsheviks engaged in reprisals after Mikhail Muravev seized Kyiv.
