Arandarenko, Mykola [Арандаренко, Микола], 1795–1867. Historian, statistician, and ethnographer. In the 1840s he was director of the Poltava treasury and then governor of Arkhangelsk gubernia. He wrote Zapiski o Poltavskoi gubernii, sostavlennye v 1846 godu (Notes on Poltava Gubernia Taken Down in 1846, 3 vols, 1848–52), which contains valuable historical information, economic data, and ethnographic material.
