Myshchenko, Fedir I. [Мищенко, Федір; Myščenko], b 12 July 1874 in Senkivtsi, Poltava gubernia, d 1933. Byzantologist; full member of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (VUAN) from 1920. Before the Revolution of 1917 he was a professor at the Kyiv Theological Academy. Under the 1918 Hetman government he was a professor at Kyiv University and a member of the Learned Committee of the Ministry of Religious Denominations. From 1920 he headed the VUAN Commission for the Study of Byzantine Literature and Its Impact on Ukraine. He and Kostiantyn Kharlampovych were dismissed in 1928 by order of the People's Commissariat of Education because of their earlier affiliation with the Kyiv Theological Academy. Further details of his life are unknown. One of his most notable scholarly works is a book on Byzantine marriage and kinship (1927).
