Polonsky, Yoanikii or Nykyforovych-Polonsky [Полонський, Йоанікій; Polons'kyj, Joanikij], b 1742 in Polonne, Volhynia, d 7 February 1819 in Kamianets-Podilskyi. Orthodox churchman. He studied at the Kyivan Mohyla Academy and then taught in theological seminaries and served as rector of the Smolensk Theological Seminary. He was consecrated as the first bishop of Bratslav-Podilia (1795). In 1797 he founded the eparchial seminary in Sharhorod, which in 1806 was transferred to Kamianets-Podilskyi. He was elevated to the rank of archbishop in 1801.
