Savych [Savyč]. A family line of Cossack starshyna in the Chernihiv region, established by Sava Prokopovych, who was captain of Voronezh regiment (1669) and general judge (1687–1700). He traveled to Moscow with Hetman Ivan Mazepa on 26 July 1687. Sava's son, Semen Savych, was the brother-in-law of Pavlo Polubotok. He died in prison and was buried in the Aleksandr Nevsky Monastery. A branch of the Savych family relocated to Slobidska Ukraine in the early 18th century.

Other members of the Savych family line included Petro Savych (b 14 May 1729), who worked in the General Military Chancellery (1747–9 and 1751–4) and assisted Hetman Kyrylo Rozumovsky (1761); Danylo Savych (d 1763), who graduated from the Kyivan Mohyla Academy (1743–9) and Moscow and Württemberg universities (1754) and became a professor of geography and physics at Moscow University (1757–61); and Oleksii Savych, a 19th-century astronomer and mathematician.

Another Savych family line died out in the 18th century. Its members included Sava Savych, who served as captain (1671–2, 1695) and judge (1672, 1675) in Lubny regiment, and Sava's son, Vasyl Savych (d 1714), a captain (1695–1702, intermittently), osaul (1698–1700), and colonel of Lubny regiment (1709–14).
