Vil’ne slovo (Free Word). A newspaper published by the Union for the Liberation of Ukraine for Ukrainians serving in the Russian army interned in the prisoner of war camp in Salzwedel, Germany, in 1916–18. It appeared semimonthly, weekly, and then semiweekly under the editorship of Petro Karmansky and, in 1918, Zenon Kuzelia. It was succeeded by Shliakh, the organ of the Ukrainian government's commission for the repatriation of prisoners.
