Vovnihy burial sites and settlement. Two burial grounds of the late Neolithic Period (of the late 4th–early 3rd millennium BC) near Vovnihy, Solone raion, Dnipropetrovsk oblast. Excavations in 1949 and 1952 revealed the remains of 161 individuals all of whom were covered with a thick layer of red ocher. Grave goods recovered included pottery shards, flint fragments, and pendants with deer teeth.
