Lanckoroński, Przecław, b ?, d 1531. Ukrainianized Polish nobleman, starosta of Khmilnyk, and military leader at the beginning of the 16th century. With Ostafii Dashkevych he organized Cossack forces to defend the population against Tatar incursions. He went on military campaigns with the Cossacks in 1516 to Akkerman, in Moldavia (then a Turkish-held territory), and in 1528 to Ochakiv, on the Black Sea. He figures in many folk legends and sayings.
