Parkhomenko, Olha [Пархоменко, Ольга; Parxomenko, Ol'ha], b 7 April 1928 in Kyiv, d 5 July 2011 in Kyiv. Violinist. She graduated from the Moscow Conservatory (1953) in the class of David Oistrakh, and from 1954 she was the soloist with the Kyiv Philharmonic. In 1956 she won first prize at the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg, and after 1963 she taught at the Kyiv Conservatory (from 1977 as a professor). Her repertoire included pieces by Borys Liatoshynsky, Mykhailo Verykivsky, and Andrii Shtoharenko.
