Hrushkevych, Teofil

Hrushkevych, Teofil [Грушкевич, Теофіль; Hruškevyč], b 4 August 1846 in Horozhanka Mala, Rudky county, Galicia, d 2 May 1915 at Schmidsdorf near Payerbach in Lower Austria. Galician civic leader. A gymnasium teacher, Hrushkevych organized education in the Kolomyia region (1879–89), and was director (1909–12) of the Ukrainian gymnasium in Yavoriv. He edited the journal Uchytel’ (1890–2) and wrote several textbooks and popular brochures.
