Koropeckyj, Iwan

Koropeckyj, Iwan [Коропецький, Іван; Koropec'kyj, Ivan], b 24 June 1921 in Strupkiv, Tovmach county, Galicia, d 12 October 2012 in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, USA. Economist. He began his studies after the Second World War in Germany and, following emigration to the United States of America, completed them with a PH D in economics from Columbia University in New York in 1964. He was a professor of economics at Temple University in Philadelphia and a member of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is the author of Location Problems in Soviet Industry before WW II (1971) and editor of Selected Contributions of Ukrainian Scholars to Economics (1984), works of Vsevolod Holubnychy (Soviet Regional Economics: Selected Works of Vsevolod Holubnychy, 1982), The Ukraine within the USSR: An Economic Balance Sheet (1977), and Ukrainian Economic History: Interpretative Essays (1991).
