Lukashevych

Lukashevych [Lukaševyč]. A Cossack starshyna family in the Pereiaslav region. Lukash (d 1736) was the osaul (1716–33), quartermaster (1735), and acting colonel of Pereiaslav regiment. Hryhorii (1735–52), Mykhailo (1752–67), and Luka (1769–73) were osauls in that regiment. Luka was also the regiment's last quartermaster (1773–9) and the last colonel of Kyiv regiment (1779–83). His son was Vasyl Lukashevych, marshal of the nobility of Pereiaslav county and the organizer of the Little Russian Secret Society. Other descendants include the ethnographer Platon Lukashevych and the bibliophile I. Lukashevych (1811–60), who was a gubernial secretary (1844–50).
