Melnychuk, Bohdan

Melnychuk, Bohdan [Мельничук, Богдан; Mel'nyčuk], b 8 December 1922 in Dauphin, Manitoba, d 17 August 1987 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Businessman and bookseller. After serving in the Canadian air force during the Second World War, he began to work for the Ukrainian Book Store in Edmonton. In 1961 he took over the business and developed it into one of the largest operations of its kind outside Ukraine. He was active in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada and a founder of the Ukrainian Canadian Archives and Museum of Alberta.
