Muzychka, Ivan

Muzychka, Ivan [Музичка, Іван; Muzyčka], b 15 November 1921 in Pukiv, Rohatyn county, Galicia, d 22 February 2016 in Rome, Italy. Catholic priest and pedagogue; member of the Shevchenko Scientific Society from 1985. He graduated from Saint Josaphat's Ukrainian Pontifical College and the Urbanianum University (D TH, 1953) in Rome. He was ordained in 1951 and served as a priest in Great Britain in 1953–75. He became a professor of practical theology at the Ukrainian Catholic University (Rome) in 1970 and served also as rector of the university (1980–5) and then rector of its Saint Sophia College. From 1975 he was a member of the editorial board of the theological quarterly Bohosloviia, in which he published several articles.
