Nashe zhyttia/Our Life

Nashe zhyttia/Our Life. A monthly organ of the Ukrainian National Women's League of America, published in Philadelphia and then New York since 1944. The successor to an insert dealing with organizational issues in the newspaper Ameryka (Philadelphia), the journal publishes articles on the women's movement, the league's activities, home economics, the arts, and other topics. It also contains belles lettres, children's stories, and poems. An English-language section has been included in the journal since its beginnings. It was launched in a newspaper format, but in 1951 it changed over to a 32-page journal format. Its circulation in the 1970s and 1980s was approx 4,600 to 5,000. Its editors have included K. Olesnytska (1944–6), Olena Lototska (1946–51), Lidiia Burachynska (1951–72), Uliana Starosolska (1972–84 and 1987–90), O. Liskivska (1985–6), and I. Chaban.
