Novi dni

Novi dni («Нові дні»; New Days). A monthly magazine established in Toronto in 1950 by Petro Volyniak. It was edited by him until his death in 1969, and after that time it was edited by an editorial board headed by D. Kyslytsia (1969–76), V. Svaroh (1977–8), and M. Dalny (after 1978). Prose, poetry, literary reviews, publicism, obituaries, memoirs, biographical notes, and news and analyses of developments in Ukraine and among Ukrainian émigrés appeared in each issue. The magazine’s polemical articles were critical of both the USSR and undemocratic tendencies in the Ukrainian émigré community. Many prominent émigré writers living in Canada, the United States of America, and Australia were contributors. The journal ceased publication in 1997. A bibliographic index of Novi dni prepared by Serhii Kozak was published in Kyiv in 2015.
