Ruska rada

Ruska rada («Руска рада»; Ruthenian Council). A semimonthly and, from 1900, weekly organ of the Ruska Rada society in Chernivtsi, published from April 1898 to November 1908 as a supplement to the newspaper Bukovyna. It contained news; reports from village correspondents throughout Bukovyna; belles lettres; and articles on political and economic affairs and on scientific, technical, and agricultural subjects. Ruska rada played an important role in spreading Ukrainian national consciousness in Bukovyna. Its editors included I. Sozansky, Ivan Zakharko, and V. Stroich.
