Ukrainian Catholic Youth

Ukrainian Catholic Youth (Українське католицьке юнацтво; Ukrainske katolytske iunatstvo, or УКЮ; UCY). A Canadian organization for Ukrainian Catholic youth, founded in 1938 in Saskatoon. The group, guided in its formative years by Rev M. Horoshko, developed as an offshoot of the Ukrainian Catholic Brotherhood of Canada to unite the various youth associations affiliated with church parishes. The UCY maintains a nonsecular profile and undertakes religious education as well as cultural activities. Each branch is organized around a church, with the parish priest as adviser.
