Ukrainian Resource and Development Centre

Ukrainian Resource and Development Centre (Український центр засобів і розвитку; Ukrainskyi tsentr zasobiv i rozvytku, or URDC). Established in 1987 at Grant MacEwan Community College in Edmonton, the URDC is the first Ukrainian center located in a Canadian community college. It deals with major provincial, national, and international projects in the fields of business, the arts, audiovisual communications, and community development. Members of its staff have been involved in projects with Ukrainian choirs and folk dance groups across Canada, with farmers in Ukraine, with an international network of Ukrainian businessmen, with the Encyclopedia of Ukraine, and with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress. It operates on funds derived from endowments established by the Ukrainian community and the governments of Canada and Alberta. Roman Petryshyn was the URDC’s first director.
