Ukrainische Nachrichten. A German-language semimonthly and then weekly published by the Union for the Liberation of Ukraine in Vienna from October 1914 to 1918 (a total of 100 issues). Originally a press bulletin, it later became a regular newspaper that provided German and Austrian newspapers, journalists, and political leaders with information on political developments in Ukraine and the growth of Ukrainian nationalism. Ukrainische Nachrichten was published by Mykola Trotsky and edited by O. Bachynsky and then an editorial board headed by V. Biberovych. The paper became popular; its circulation reached almost 4,000.
