Krendovsky, Yevhraf [Крендовський, Євграф; Krendovs’kyj, Jevhraf], b 1810 in Kremenchuk, Poltava gubernia, d 1876 in Izmailovo, Russia. Painter of Alexei Venetsianov's school. A student of A. Stupin at the Arzamas Art School and of Venetsianov, he attended drawing classes at the Saint Petersburg Academy of Arts (1830–5) and attained the title of independent artist (1839). He settled in Manuilivka, Poltava gubernia, and taught painting. Most of his works were done in Ukraine. They include Pipe Players (1835), Gathering for the Hunt (1836), Square of a Provincial Town, A Ukrainian Woman, and Girl Friends. He spent the last years of his life in Kremenchuk, where he ran his own art school.
