Vasko, Havrylo [Vas’ko], b 1820 in Korop, Krolevets county, Chernihiv gubernia, d after 1878. Painter. He learned to paint by copying works by the masters. He taught drawing at Kyiv University and headed its painting art museum (1847–63). He specialized in painting portraits; among his works are ones of B. and V. Tomara (1847) and Tsar Nicholas I and a series (now lost) of Cossack hetmans for Vasyl V. Tarnovsky's museum in Chernihiv.
