Zubkov, Serhii [Зубков, Сергій], b 25 September 1919 in Orchykova Cherneshchyna, Kostiantynohrad county, Poltava gubernia, d 16 July 2007 in Kyiv. Literary scholar. A graduate of the Kyiv Pedagogical Institute (1951), he specialized in prerevolutionary Ukrainian literature and wrote monographs on Yevhen Hrebinka (1962), Hryhorii Kvitka-Osnovianenko (1978), and the Russian prose of Kvitka-Osnovianenko and Hrebinka in the context of Russian-Ukrainian literary relations (1979). He served as head of the manuscript and textology department of the Institute of Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (1951–74), director of the Institute of Fine Arts, Folklore, and Ethnography of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (1974–87), and editor of Narodna tvorchist’ ta etnohrafiia (1974–88).
