Vikonska, Dariia [Віконська, Дарія; Vikons'ka, Darija; pseudonym of Ivanna-Karolina Malytska, née Fedorovych], b 17 February 1893 in Vienna, d 25 October 1945 in Vienna. Writer; daughter of Volodyslav Fedorovych and wife of Mykola Malytsky. She was educated in England, and traveled widely in Western Europe. Her sketches and articles on art appeared in Literaturno-naukovyi vistnyk from 1922 on. She also used the pseudonym I. Fedorenko. In the 1930s she contributed to Dazhboh and Zhinocha dolia. She wrote a collection of poetic dialogues about art and love, Rais'ka iablinka (The Crab Apple Tree, 1931), a book about James Joyce (1934), and the book Za sylu i peremohu (For Power and Victory, 1938). Faced with the prospect of an arrest by the NKVD following the Soviet occupation of Vienna, she committed suicide.
