Its notable members included the brothers Ivan Zolotarenko, Vasyl Zolotarenko, and Tymish Zolotarenko, all of whom served as colonels of Nizhyn regiment; their sister, Hanna Nykyforivna, the third wife of Bohdan Khmelnytsky (married in 1651), who entered a nunnery after his death; Vasyl's son, Ostap (Evstafii) Zolotarenko (Vasiutenko), who was the Kish otaman of the Zaporozhian Sich (1667) and colonel of Nizhyn regiment (1669–70); and Yakiv Zolotarenko (d 1721), a captain of Pryluky regiment (1690–1709), who was exiled to Moscow in 1717 for supporting Ivan Mazepa.
