Ameryka

Ameryka (America). The first Ukrainian newspaper in the United States, which appeared from 15 August 1886 until 22 February 1890, at first irregularly as a biweekly and then as a weekly. Ameryka's founder and first publisher was Rev Ivan Ya. Voliansky; later it was published by the Ukrainian Catholic parish of Shenandoah, Pennsylvania. For a time the paper was edited by Volodymyr Simenovych, and then by Kost Andrukhovych.
