Hankevych, Klymentii

Hankevych, Klymentii [Ганкевич, Климентій; Hankevyč, Klymentij; Hankiewicz, Clemens], b 2 September 1842 in Nastasiv, Ternopil circle, d 14 February 1924 in Chernivtsi. Galician pedagogue and linguist. He wrote comparative studies on accent in Sanskrit, Greek, and Ukrainian; of greater importance because of their factual material are his descriptive works on accent in Ukrainian dialects and on folk etymology. He also wrote on the history of Slavic philosophy and psychology.
