Hrushevska, Mariia

Hrushevska, Mariia [Грушевська, Марія; Hrushevs'ka, Marija; née Вояковська; Voiakovska], b 8 November 1868, Pidhaichyky, Galicia, d 19 September 1948 in Kyiv. Civic leader and pedagogue in Lviv and Kyiv; wife of Mykhailo Hrushevsky, mother of Kateryna Hrushevska. Hrushevska was an associate of the journal Literaturno-naukovyi vistnyk, in which she also published her translations of French works. In 1917 she was a member of the Central Rada and of the Ukrainian National Theater Committee.
