Kmitsykevych, Volodymyr

Kmitsykevych, Volodymyr [Kmicykevyč], b 28 August 1863, d 29 July 1942 in Chernivtsi. A gymnasium teacher in Galicia and Chernivtsi, he compiled a German-Ukrainian dictionary (1912) and Greek-Ukrainian dictionary (1922–3), contributed articles on cultural and educational issues to the Bukovynian Ukrainian press, and translated Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller's William Tell (1887) and Plato's Apology (1898) into Ukrainian.
