Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts

Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts (Київський національний університет культури і мистецтв; Kyivskyi natsionalnyi universytet kultury i mystettstv). An institution of higher education in Kyiv. Formed in 1968 under the name Kyiv Institute of Culture out of the Kyiv branch of the Kharkiv Institute of Culture. In 1997 it was reorganized into the Kyiv State University of Culture. In 1999 it was granted a national university status and assumed its present name. The university has 10 faculties, including cinema and television; design and advertising; journalism and international relations; musical arts; choreography; directing and show business; and cultural studies. It has branches in Dnipro, Lviv, and Mykolaiv, a distance-learning school, and a graduate program. Its enrollment is over 10,000.
