Shyianiv, Hryhorii

Shyianiv, Hryhorii [Шиянів, Григорій; Šyjaniv, Hryhorij], b 30 November 1874 in the Chernihiv region, d 23 December 1955 near Poděbrady, Czechoslovakia. Lawyer, judge, and civic figure. In 1918 he was a member of the General Court of the Ukrainian National Republic and the Hetman government’s State Senate (supreme court). An émigré in Bohemia from 1920, he taught law at the Ukrainian Husbandry Academy in Poděbrady and was a member of its last senate. He wrote for the academy the first Ukrainian textbook about automobiles and a textbook on private law.
