Svoboda (Uzhhorod)

Svoboda (Uzhhorod) (Freedom). A weekly Ukrainophile newspaper published in Uzhhorod in 1922–38 as the continuation of the newspaper Nauka. The editor and publisher was Avhustyn Voloshyn; Viktor Zheltvai and Yu. Sopko were the managing editors. The organ of the Christian People's party in Transcarpathia from 1925, Svoboda was published in the Transcarpathian dialect until 1930, but afterward it appeared in Standard Ukrainian. It was succeeded by Nova svoboda.
