Terletsky, Sydir

Terletsky, Sydir [Терлецький, Сидір; Terlec'kyj], b 7 June 1892 in Chernivtsi, Bukovyna, d 8 February 1953 in Bad Salzuflen, West Germany. Actor and stage director. He worked as an actor in the Ruska Besida Theater in Lviv and the Lviv Ukrainian People’s Theater under Yosyp Stadnyk (1911–14) and then led the Ukrainian Drama Theater at the People's Home in Chernivtsi (1918–28) and acted in amateur theaters in Bukovyna (1928–39) and the Chernivtsi Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater (1940–1). He was arrested in August 1943 and sent to Nazi concentration camps in Auschwitz and Buchenwald. He was released in 1945.
