Third (Berezhany) Brigade of the Ukrainian Galician Army

Third (Berezhany) Brigade of the Ukrainian Galician Army (Berezhanska [3] brygada UHA). A military unit formed in January 1919 out of the Navariia Group. As part of the Second Corps of the Ukrainian Galician Army it besieged Lviv from the south during the Volukhiv Operation in February–March 1919. The brigade participated in the Chortkiv offensive in June 1919 and together with the Seventh Brigade broke through the Polish front at Chortkiv. Subsequently it fought against Soviet Army in Proskuriv, Starokostiantyniv, and Korosten. Its remnants were reorganized into the Third Infantry Regiment of the First Brigade of the Red Ukrainian Galician Army. On 10 May 1920 the regiment surrendered to the Poles. The commanders of the brigade were Lt Col Arnold Wolf, Lt Col Antin Kravs, Maj Omelian Lesniak, and Capt P. Bakovych.
