Vorokhta

Vorokhta [Voroxta]. Map: V-5. A town smt (2018 pop 4,254) on the Prut River in Yaremche raion, Ivano-Frankivsk oblast. It was founded in the 17th century and was granted the status of the urban-type settlement in 1960. Surrounded by coniferous and beech forests, the town is a popular tourist resort. It has sanatoriums for tuberculosis patients, a sports base, and a wooden church from the 18th century.
