Zarytsky, Myron

Zarytsky, Myron [Зарицький, Мирон; Zaryc’kyj], b 23 May 1889 in Mohylnytsia, Terebovlia county, Galicia, d 19 August 1961 in Lviv. Mathematician; father of Kateryna Zarytska. After completing his studies at Vienna University (1907) and Lviv University (1912), he worked as a gymnasium teacher in Galicia and then lectured at Lviv University (1939–50) and Uzhhorod University (1950–5). He made contributions to set theory, mathematical logic, the theory of probability, and function theory.
