Zavadovsky, Ivan

Zavadovsky, Ivan [Завадовський, Іван; Zavadovs'kyj], b and d ? Kyivan goldsmith. In 1747 he and Petro Volokh carved the silver Royal Gates for the iconostasis of the Saint Sophia Cathedral from a copper model by Semen Taranovsky. The silver gate was carved with plant ornamentation and bas-reliefs of the Annunciation, Christ’s Presentation at the Temple, the Evangelists, King David, and other biblical figures.
