Osnova, newspaper («Основа»; Foundation). A populist newspaper published semiweekly in Lviv from October 1870 to December 1872 (a total of 90 issues). Founded by Yuliian Lavrivsky and edited by T. Leontovych and then Ksenofont Klymkovych, it promoted political co-operation between the Poles and Ukrainians in Galicia. Regular contributors were Stepan Kachala, Lavrivsky, Volodymyr Shashkevych, Omelian Partytsky, and Anatol Vakhnianyn.
